Travelers on America’s Interstates may form their first impression of a state by their experience at its rest stops and welcome centers. Infrastructure Corporation of America (ICA) performs rest area asset maintenance management for over 70% of Florida’s rest areas, welcome centers and weigh-in-motion facilities as well as approximately 75% of Virginia’s rest areas.

For two years in a row, from 2003 to 2004, Florida’s District Three and ICA were recognized by FDOT for having the best maintained rest areas in the state based on QA inspections and customer response cards. In 2004, the state of Florida was recognized for the best rest areas in the country thus making ICA maintained facilities the best nationwide.

ICA’s rest area maintenance responsibilities typically include: janitorial services, landscape and grounds maintenance, security, building maintenance, pavement and lighting, and water and wastewater management.
